Global Mobile Phone Sales by Brand

The bar shows the amount of global mobile phone sales by brand, including Samsung, Apple, Nokia, LG, and  ZTE in three separate years.

It can be seen that sales of global mobile phones went up in three out of the five brands from 2009-2013 while the other product was drop. Overall, Nokia is a product that has the highest unit of sold compared to all products.

In 2009, Nokia led the sale of its products at the top, they successfully sold more than 400 million products. By 2011, however, Samsung experienced the largest sales increase in its products, while Apple was ranked second in increasing sales of its products. There is also ZTE that managed to increase sales of its products in 2011.

In 2013, Samsung managed to lead more success in selling its products, but it can be seen in the bar above that a stable increase occurred in ZTE products where they only increased slightly compared to the previous year.

In 2009, apple was the lowest on selling their product, they just sold 20 million units. While in 2011 Nokia and LG experienced a decrease in sales of their products. In 2013 Nokia experienced a drastic decline in sales because in 2011 Nokia was able to sell more than 400 units of its products and decreased to 240 million units sold. even though they did not sell the lowest product but the decline in their product sales was quite a crisis.

Analysis of Patriarchy, Feminism, and Gender in The Short Story “The Steel Brassiere” by Iris Sheila G. Crisostomo

Patriarchy A patriarchy, from the ancient Greek  patriarches , was a society where power was held by and passed down through the elder males. When modern historians and sociologists describe a "patriarchal society," they mean that men hold the positions of power and have more privilege: head of the family unit, leaders of social groups, a boss in the workplace, and heads of government. Feminist theorists have expanded the definition of patriarchal society to describe a systemic bias against women. As second-wave feminists examined society during the 1960s, they did observe households headed by women and female leaders. They were, of course, concerned with whether this was uncommon. More significant, however, was the way society  perceived  women in power as an exception to a collectively held view of women's "role" in society. Rather than saying that individual men oppressed women, most feminists saw that oppression of women came from the underlying bias o...

“A Supermarket in California” by Allen Ginsberg

While reading this poem, I was a little confused about the meaning of this poem. However, after reading it several times I find that this poem tells of the poet-Allen Ginsberg's interest in Walt Whitman, an American poet and journalist. Allen Ginsberg wrote "A Supermarket in California" while he was living in Berkeley, California in 1955. This poem is one of Ginsberg's poetry that received the great influence of the American poet, Walt Whitman. Whitman, considered to be the first Native American poet of the nineteenth century, had an influence on Ginsberg's writing. His poetic style experimented on metering and rhythm and avoided the structured lines and verses that were standard forms of poetry at the time. He was an American poet who first introduced freestyle poetry, he also added unusual images and symbols to his poetry, his freedom in poetry earned him the nickname 'father of free verse'. Whitman is known as an eccentric person, both because of his wr...

THE SECRET GARDEN

Like all great stories for children, The Secret Garden contains powerful truths just beneath the surface. There is always a level at which the story is telling children about more than just events; it is telling them about the nature of life.  It is a work of beauty, poetry, and deep mystery, and watching it is like entering for a time into a closed world where one's destiny may be discovered.   In this film, Holland has again made a film about a missing child, but this time her theme and her telling of it are in complete harmony. It is a beautiful, intelligent film; a fable, a lesson, and entrancing entertainment. From the character of Mary Lenox, we can see  the moral of this story is that anyone can change.  Mary Lennox is a young girl who was raised in India, becomes an orphan. She is initially an ill-tempered, self-absorbed child. Through fresh air, exercise, self-help, and the magic of the secret garden, she transforms into a healthy, robust, and caring child...
